About the role:
This is a key role in the Westminster team, working very closely alongside Bernard. You will be involved in all areas of Bernard’s Parliamentary work, with plenty of opportunity to contribute and work collaboratively.
Although a short-term role, this position will offer exceptional developmental opportunities, from an MP who values the contribution of his staff and is keen to offer mentorship and training to the right candidate.
The successful candidate will support Bernard with committee business, undertake research, write speeches, and monitor parliamentary business, legislation, and other relevant news, to ensure the MP is fully briefed.
You will need to have some Parliamentary experience; know how to access the library and House resources, understand the rhythms of Westminster and the support an MP needs from their team.
The ideal candidate will be educated to at least degree level and able to absorb detailed policy information with ease. The office prides itself on working collectively, with a positive attitude and shared values, and welcome a new member of the team who will share that ethos.
Your cover letter should clearly explain why you are applying for the role, and why you believe you are a suitable candidate. Assessments will be undertaken at interview stage.
