About Suzanne:
Suzanne Webb has been the Member of Parliament for Stourbridge since 2019. She has served as Parliamentary Private Secretary to Liz Truss when she was Secretary of State for International Trade, then to Ben Wallace as Secretary of State for Defence and as Assistant Government Whip. Suzanne was recently promoted to Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Prime Minister.
Suzanne is an active campaigner and champion for her constituency and the wider region and particular areas of interest are protecting the greenbelt, regeneration, supporting jobs and businesses in Stourbridge and campaigning for a new police station.
About the role:
This is a key role in the Parliamentary team and would suit someone looking for the next step in their parliamentary career. The role is based in Westminster and the main duties will involve supporting Suzanne in her Government role and in her work for constituents.
The successful candidate will undertake research, draft briefings, and monitor parliamentary business, legislation, and other relevant news, to ensure Suzanne is fully briefed on matters affecting the constituency.
You will have responsibility for building relationships with local stakeholders, and writing external communications, including press releases, newsletters, and surveys.
You will work closely with other members of the team in the Westminster and constituency offices and provide support to the Office Manager with monitoring the inbox.
About you:
You will need to have some Parliamentary experience; understand the rhythms of Westminster and the support an MP needs from their team.
The ideal candidate will stay calm under pressure, be organised and efficient and able to prioritise and respond to upcoming deadlines.
You will need to be able to manage your time and effectively juggle competing priorities in providing support to the MP, assisting the Office Manager, and proactively horizon-scan for upcoming opportunities.
