*This group is open only to staff currently employed by Members of Parliament.*
Small group sessions for Parliamentary Assistants and Researchers to discuss upcoming House business and proactively identify opportunities for their Members in the House.
The session will help staff to horizon scan, discuss any briefings they may need to prepare, or find useful information to be fed back to constituents or other members of their team, as well as discussing any hot topics in the news that may be affecting workloads.
The sessions will be run by experienced Senior Parliamentary Assistants/Policy Advisors who will be able to offer guidance on accessing and navigating House services, and point staff in the right direction for taking forward their ideas and formulating campaigns and plans.
Each week we will encourage attendees to report back on their previous week to promote accountability and goal setting; and because idea-sharing amongst peers is useful for widening perspectives. We will also stay in contact during the week for any adhoc questions that come up, that they have been unable to answer themselves or within their teams.
The aim of the Mentor Group is to take help staff develop skills in working independently and proactively, developing and executing efficient strategies, and to encourage political nous.
Initial 1:1 registration session includes a call with the staff member, and their line manager if requred, to determine how we can best support their needs and those of the office.
Fees: One off £75 (initial registration) followed by £75 per week (billed on a monthly basis).
Terms: All prices are subject to VAT. Bookings cannot be transferred and non-attendance is non-refundable. In exceptional circumstances, if the session is cancelled by Hive, a refund will be provided for that week. Following registration, 14 days notice is required to withdraw your place in the Group. All discussions within the group will relate purely to Parliamentary activity and therefore eligible to be claimed from IPSA.
